Curley's Wife

''Im lookin' for Curley,'' she said. Her voice had a nasal, brittle quality.

This quote tells us that the author wants us to think of Curley's wife in a bad way. She could have asked anyone else on the farm but she decides to ask the two new guys so she could see their looks.

''If he ain't, I guess I better look someplace else,'' she said playfully.

In this quote she finds that Curley isn't here and she states that she would better go look for him but she also wants to stay here and talk to the new boys in town.

'' 'Bye, boys,''.

This quote is interesting because the other characters who came in left in a huff. She says good bye in a playful way.
